The Premiere of “Flowers Bloom in Jinggang” – Apexls Outdoor LED Transparent Display Boosts Immersive Show

2025.04.07

The all-domain water-immersed roaming ultra-sensory performance “Flowers Bloom in Jinggang” premiered on April 5, 2025. With the innovative concept of “Half River, Half Show” and the technological empowerment of Apexls’s outdoor transparent LED display, it attracted nearly a thousand spectators to watch the performance on-site during the Qingming Festival holiday, achieving initial success. This cultural and tourism feast that integrates historical narrative and digital technology has redefined the boundaries of immersive performances through breakthroughs in three dimensions:

Constructing an All-domain Immersive “Ultra-sensory Theater”

The 275-square-meter Apexls P3.91-7.81 transparent LED display formed the stage core, achieving breakthroughs in outdoor performance technology and visual storytelling.

Dynamic Environment Adaptation System

The screen is equipped with a built-in light sensor that can automatically adjust the transparency and brightness according to the day and night environment. In the prologue “River Rhyme in the Immersed Water”, the screen forms a 180° continuous visual interface with the surface of the Lujiang River. When the cruise ship approaches within 3 meters of the screen, the system automatically triggers the “Water Screen Melting” special effect – the transparency of the screen instantly increases to 90%, creating an illusion for the audience that the ship is passing through the image.

Multimodal Interaction Network

The screen supports gravity sensing and spatial positioning technologies. When the audience makes specific movements (such as waving or jumping) on the mobile audience seats, the system can capture them in real-time through the UWB positioning module, driving the screen to present dynamic feedback such as “ripple diffusion” and “light and shadow fission”. In the climax scene of “The Wenxi Fire”, the audience’s stomping actions can trigger the atomization system below the screen to create the effect of “boiling river water”, combined with the real fire special effects to form a multi-dimensional sensory impact.

Intelligent Structure Reinforcement

In response to the humid climate along the Xiangjiang River, the outdoor LED transparent display cabinet adopts an IP65 protection level. The internally integrated dehumidification module and heating element can operate stably in extreme environments ranging from -20°C to 50°C. In terms of structural design, a truss support system is adopted to ensure stability during strong convective weather.

Artistic Innovation: Reviving the Cultural DNA of Jinggang

“Flowers Bloom in Jinggang,” inspired by the 1938 Wenxi Fire, showcased how LED display design can merge art and heritage through digital creativity.

Digitalization of Intangible Cultural Heritage Elements

The classic arias of the Xiang Opera “Princess Baihua” are presented visually with the effect of “Three Scenes on One Screen” through the dynamic split-screen technology of the outdoor LED transparent display: the main screen in the middle shows the real-time performance of the actors, and the transparent areas on both sides simultaneously display the painting process and historical evolution map of the facial makeup of the Xiang Opera. This compound narrative mode of “performance + commentary” increases the communication efficiency of intangible cultural heritage by 40%.

Three-dimensional Construction of Spatial Narrative

The outdoor LED transparent display and the mobile audience seats form a “dual-track narrative” system: when the cruise ship that the audience is on sails along the Lujiang River, the screen plays historical images corresponding to the current scene synchronously. When the cruise ship passes the ruins of the “Bayuan Hall”, the screen suddenly rises, revealing the real scene stage hidden behind it. The actors leap into the water from behind the screen, completing the dramatic climax of the “transformation between the virtual and the real”.

Immersive Creation of Emotional Resonance

In the scene of the “Defense Battle of Jinggang”, the transparent screen projects the outline of the ancient town onto the river surface through 3D Mapping technology. Coupled with the sounds of gunfire and shouts interspersed in the surround sound, the audience seems to be on the battlefield in 1938. The vibration module and spray system below the screen further enhance the sense of presence of “earth-shaking”.

The practice of “Flowers Bloom in Jinggang” proves that the outdoor LED transparent display is not only a display technology but also a “digital catalyst” for reconstructing the cultural and tourism experience. Through the organic combination of technological innovation and cultural depth, this project provides a replicable “Jinggang Model” for the activation and utilization of traditional ancient towns, and also sets a new value benchmark for the immersive performance industry.
